On Stephanies Written World I found a challenge I could not resist. The Everything Austen II challenge. Lookes like I missed no 1 already, so Im absolutely going to participate in this one.

What to do for this challenge? Well that’s easy!

“The Everything Austen Challenge will run for six months (July 1, 2010 – January 1, 2011)! All you need to do is pick out six Austen-themed things you want to finish to complete the challenge. You have until Thursday, July 15th 2010 to officially sign up.”

On Stephanie’s blog there is a list with suggestions for this challenge.

All I have to do now is make a list.

At the moment I’m listening to Pride and Prejudice, so that already one item for my list. I’m not sure whether I’m going to read/listen to 6 books or f I throw in a cross stitch project.

Tomatoes in oil…

Posted by: Marion   Filed under: cooking   Tags:

You’ll need 3 kg tomatoes, cut in half and spoon out the seeds:

Put them on a baking tray, add cloves of garlic, flowered sea salt, and powdered sugar. Sprinkle with olive oil. Bake for 2 hours on 80 °C.

Take the trays out of the oven, flip the tomatoes over and put them back in the oven for another 2 hours.

Put the tomatoes and garlic in a jar (mine can containe 2 litres and its full to the brim) which can close air sealed, add fresh herbs like basil, rosemary, estragon, thym and fill the jar with warm olive oil untill all the tomatoes are covered with oil.

When all is cooled off, close the jar and wait 3 weeks. Yes… THREE weeks.. :)

I found the recipe here, via Coté Passions. I was some puzzle, because neither Dan_e nor me speak very good French, and the translators are very erm.. let me say “funny” in times :) We will let you know in three weeks how it worked out :)
