Herb cheese and a furry update

Posted by: Marion   Filed under: cats & fish, green thumb

Look at my herb cheese.. Isn’t it wonderful how fast cress grows? It’s edible in a few days.

Speaking of fast growing, Charlie and Emma are also growing fast. They are four months old now:

On the left Charlie, who is obviously bigger then Emma, on the right. But that does not stop Emma from attacking her big sister, to test her strength. And trust me, most of the times it’s Charlie who surrenders…

Herb Cheese

Posted by: Marion   Filed under: green thumb   Tags:

When we went to the market last Friday, I found this big plastic cheese in some bushes. I took it with me because I might make a miniature project with it. Lately my miniature/dolls house bug starts itching again so I thought it might be a nice thing to make a cheese shop in or something simular.

Today I have a hell of a headache and most of the times I get the greatest ideas – if I may say so myself :) So I was watching the cheese, and the idea popped into my head: why not make it a herb cheese: cut holes in it, put earth inside and plant some seeds to grow some herbs.. Brilliant.

The green thumb

Posted by: Marion   Filed under: green thumb   Tags: ,

Today Dan_e and me went to the market to buy some plants for my balcony at the back of my house. It’s facing north but that never bothered me or limited me in buying the plants I want. Somehow everything I put there will grow, if I give it enough TLC. Lately I’ve been neglecting the plants there and the result is this:

Okay.. I admit it does look green but most of these green plants are weeds.. not the plants I planted. So O got some herbs, a lot of lavender and some other blue and purple plants, some grass for the kittens and here we go, much better:

And from below it looks like this:

And just to “show of” here are the balconys form my upstairs neighbours…

Pretty boring huh?? lol I guess they are missing the green thumb. No idea why its called green anyway, my hands and nails were black after the whole afternoon putting my hands in the soil. I think I did pretty ok, for a city girl :)
